It is really tough and taken abuse for 4 years of uses that it was not designed to be used for like chopping through a 4 inch root, prying boulders out of the ground, cutting sticker bushes that are 1.5 in. diameter at the base, pulling vines out of trees, chopping tree limbs up to 2 in. diameter on the downward stroke at the limb\/stem junction and much more. I finally broke two teeth by hitting rocks hidden just under the surface. Even though the metal is tempered, the teeth can be sharpened by hand to some degree. It’s a great tool for landscaping and other garden uses as well.
